Web Developer - Communications & Marketing
Job Summary
Designs and develops the College website and web applications using modern programming languages and responsive design frameworks. Builds and maintains front-end and back-end components, ensuring high performance through thorough testing and quality assurance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Integrate content and functionality from databases, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and third-party systems to deliver a seamless and interactive user experience.
Ensure web content and applications comply with industry standards, federal accessibility regulations (e.g., WCAG/ADA) and align with the College’s branding guidelines.
Enhance website performance by optimizing for speed, performance and search engine visibility (SEO), ensuring consistent functionality across different browsers and devices.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to web servers and site functionality, performing regular testing and quality assurance to maintain reliability.
Provide technical support and training to faculty, staff and other designated content staff on the effective use of the College’s Content Management System (CMS).
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, Digital Media, or related field required
· 4 years directly related work experience plus relevant professional certification may be considered in lieu of required degree
· 2 years of experience in web development or related technical experience required
· Experience working with content management technologies, web ad management, e-marketing tools, and web analytic software preferred
Licensing & Certification
· Valid Texas Driver License

· Proficiency in modern web technologies, including HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
