SUMMARY

Under direct supervision assist the designated department by performing a variety of routine clerical task assignments. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Answer telephone, handling multiple lines;
  2. Handle routine office inquiries;
  3. Operate office equipment such as computer, copier, fax, typewriter, and calculator;
  4. Respond to requests for information, in person or over the phone, and provide necessary customer service to internal and external customers;
  5. Type correspondence and other documents from notes, copies, or rough drafts;
  6. Scan and process departmental documents such as surveys or office documents;
  7. Process all incoming and outgoing mail;
  8. Assist with special projects as assigned; and
  9. Provide support to other areas as needed

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.  The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

 

EDUCATION

High School Student or higher education level; at least 18 years of age.

 

EXPERIENCE

One (1) year experience in an office environment preferred. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel computer applications;

2. Possess good written and oral communication skills; and

3. Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with a diverse population.
