SUMMARY

Provides support to HCCS faculty and staff with their visual needs in all aspects of photography: print based, Internet, classroom, and all other visual media.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Perform various photographic and audiovisual tasks as necessary for the completion of various projects in the assigned college/area in accordance with department procedures and needs and preferences of the individual user.
  2. Assist users in the development of projects by providing technical assistance and suggested methods for completion of projects in a timely fashion.
  3. Perform various photographic and audiovisual production services for assign college/department, but not limited to, internal advertising, public relations production, and other forms of media presentation.
  4. May maintain and utilize black and white darkroom for processing and printing.
  5. Serve as backup and provides assistance to assigned college/area staff in various activities in the department including graphic arts, audio production and video production.
  6. Make recommendations to supervisor regarding the need for and availability of equipment and supplies related to department activities and/or projects.
  7. Maintain all records necessary for documentation of materials utilized and time spent in development and completion of projects.
  8. Perform any of the following duties: digital imaging, digital retouching, digital printing, and traditional printing.
  9. Invoice clients (internal and external.
  10. Position requires extensive local travel.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Some college preferred.

EXPERIENCE

3 years full-time experience as a professional photographer required.

Must submit with application a list of professional assignments/projects completed during the past 6 months.

Professional portfolio required at time of interview.

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Familiar with all aspects of photography (studio lighting, portraiture, location lighting, composition, etc.).
  2. Knowledge of computer based imaging (scanning, color balancing, digital retouching, digital printing, and digital enhancing).
  3. Knowledge of digital based software (e.g., PhotoShop, Image Ready, Digital ICE, Pictography 3000, BB edit Light, Illustrator, Adobe Lightroom, etc.).
  4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  5. Must understand current Internet programming for utilization of photography on the web.
  6. Demonstrable proficiency in producing instructional and public relations packages.

WORKING CONDITIONS
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
