SUMMARY
The MakerSpace Lab Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of all MakerSpace operations including, but not limited to, materials, equipment operation and maintenance, inventory, training, and safety.
The MakerSpace Lab Manager works with the MakerSpace and IDEAS Academy Program Director to promote the MakerSpace as a center for creativity and innovation, to help create programs and classes based on user requests and demands, and to provide support for the faculty, students, and community users of the facility.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in lab operations and supervision required. Experience in an institution of higher education preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proficiency in Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems, Microsoft Office applications and the Internet
Ability to make independent choices
Ability to supervise a diverse work environment
Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with a high volume of people interaction
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with faculty members, students, staff and outside vendors
May be required to demonstrate competencies of various hardware/ software skills verified during the interview
