Instructor Graphic Design - Adjunct Pool
EDUCATION
Associate’s Degree or higher in Graphic Design or related discipline, from an accredited institution or international equivalent, additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Graphic Design, preferably in the commercial graphic design field (or a related field), and understand how studio art disciplines can support a graphic design curriculum; A record of exhibitions, the maintenance of an active studio art practice, as reflected within an exceptional visual arts portfolio required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have current industry knowledge and experience in visual communication and experience and knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Applicant must also have an ongoing graphic design experience and also current knowledge and proficiency in typography and digital imaging concepts.
Possess the ability to work in a diverse work environment.
Willing and able to teach day or evening classes at a number of sites around the city.
Knowledge and skill in a variety of computer usage and software are required.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse professional, community, and student population.
Possess good organizational and planning skills.
Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.
Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students in a learning-centered environment.
Self-disciplined and able to effectively manage others.
