EDUCATION
Associate degree required; four (4) years relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Must have valid Texas Driver’s License and meet HCC’s minimum insurance standards to obtain approved driving status.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum five (5) years work experience in a defined craft required.
Minimum five (5) years work experience in the operations and maintenance of facility systems required.
Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance (PM) tasks preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Good understanding of contractual arrangements in regards to the coordination of work activities involving project consultants and contractors ensuring quality of delivered services and standards are met
Able to evaluate and analyze complex information from internal and external sources
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent math skills
Supply employee owned tools commonly required to complete daily maintenance responsibilities and duties
Able to work on project work with minimal supervision
Able to read and write English, distinguish between colors, and work from elevated heights (ladders, scaffolding, etc.)
Able to communicate effectively in both writing and orally
Able to communicate effectively and courteously with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Familiar with facilities management software and/or CADD software
Able to organize data in a clear and logical manner for reporting purposes
Familiar with OSHA and EPA regulations for facilities management
Problem solving and organizational skills
Basic knowledge of construction processes and techniques
Able to read and interpret plans, shop drawings and specifications
Able to lift 80 pounds in the work environment and carry it 50 yards
Able and willing to work in extreme temperature and other weather conditions when working outdoors
Able and willing to work an on-call rotation
Able and willing to travel to various campuses and offsite locations on a regular basis
Able to work under pressure; may have to work outside normal business hours (i.e. varying shifts, weekends and holidays) as needed
