EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED is required. Associate’s Degree is preferred
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two (2) years commercial driving experience is required. Valid CDL license is required. Driving records must have no more than one (1) moving violation in a three year period
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to follow driving directions and towing practices and procedures.
Ability to maintain accurate travel and vehicle maintenance and repair logs.
Ability to read maps, determine best route and estimate trip times.
Ability to maintain a varying work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
Must have knowledge of and comply with the laws related to this type of vehicle.
Follow regulations and procedures regarding safe commercial motor vehicle operations and motor vehicle accidents.
Must be able to read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language sufficiently to perform the various tasks of the job, including, but not limited to: communicating with coworkers and the general public; understanding oral and written instructions, highway traffic signs and signals.
Ability to accurately and efficiently perform the mathematical calculations necessary to do the work, including: the counting of freight, calculation of weight, determination of hours of service, computation of time and mileage, etc.
Ability to drive and/or work to the maximum number of hours allowed under D.O.T hours of Service and Road Regulation.
Ability to work independently, without constant supervision
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Programs
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. or more
