  • SUMMARY

    Oversee and maintain efficient service operation of Business Office at site where assigned.  Monitor/review cashiering functions at site where assigned.  Collect payment from students.
     
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
     
    Oversee and maintain efficient service operation of Business Office at site where assigned.
     
    Collect money from students who are in default of payment of returned checks, financial aid over-awards, or TPEG loans.  This involves placing student records on hold, contacting the student in writing and by phone and, where necessary, initiates request to withdraw student from class for non-payment of default.
     
    Maintain files on all student defaults, releases holds on student records upon payment of default, and informs College Registration and System to ensure state reports are accurate.
     
    Monitor/review cashiering functions at site where assigned.  This involves the reconciliation of cashiering errors detected by the PeopleSoft reports.
     
    In the absence of the Head Cashier, provide training for employees who perform cashiering duties.
     
    Receive, review, and process petty cash requests in accordance with department and College procedures.
     
    Review student refund requests, approving issuance of refunds or holding refunds to apply against defaults as necessary, forwarding corrected reports to System Bursar’s Office.
     
    Check and review the Daily PeopleSoft Bank Reconciliation Balance Report with the checkout report of each cashier, for the site where assigned, for accuracy and completeness.
     
    Disburse all checks.
     
    Prepare reports as requested.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS 
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.  The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
     
    EDUCATION
    High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
     
    EXPERIENCE 
    One (1) year experience required in cashiering, preferably in a college or university business office.
     
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    Individual selected must be bondable
     
    Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer
     

    Knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred

     

    Customer service skills required
