EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED required. Certification in Captioning and/or CART services is required.
Diploma from a court reporting institute required.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of four or more (4+) years of directly related experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of guidelines and laws pertaining to accessibility issues regarding Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
Demonstrate good communication skills to support effective interaction with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the general public
Organization skills to effectively plan work activities, schedules, priorities, and utilization of resources
Ability to accept assignments at alternative sites as needed
Ability to deal in a fair and courteous manner with variety of individuals
Ability to provide feedback, support, and encouragement to students,
Ability to record and maintain proper records
Ability to meet deadlines for reports and other required paperwork
Ability to safeguard sensitive or confidential information from intentional or unintentional disclosure
The knowledge and/or technology used in this job changes periodically. As a result, occasional education and/or training may be necessary to maintain current in this area of work
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to assignments as needed
