Assistant, Student Services
Assist with the implementation of program activities and services that enhance student leadership, participation, success and retention.
Provide clerical support to keep office functioning smoothly and efficiently.
Provide support by assisting with all student services initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist supervisor with planning, directing and coordinating system-wide program activities and services which promote student participation.
Participate in various recruitment functions for high schools, colleges, community fairs, etc. Assist with the planning and coordination of the annual graduation ceremony.
Assist with the coordination of special projects and assignments from the Vice Chancellor and Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Services.
Prepare and present status reports on system-wide activities and services (i.e. weekly, monthly, and annually) to the Director, VC and AVC of Student Services.
Assist with planning and conducting system-wide leadership training opportunities (i.e. workshops, seminars, meetings and conferences) for faculty advisors and student leaders to inform them about new, revised and updated policies and procedures relating to student organizations.
May work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Perform general office duties such as filing, typing, faxing, and answering phones.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree preferred
- 1 year experience in office environment working with information management systems required
- 6 months experience working in student services, participating, planning or coordinating outreach activities in a higher education or community college setting preferred
- Valid Texas Driver License

General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
