We are currently seeking an Adult Education Compliance Specialist who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

The Opportunity
You: You have excellent time management skills and you really shine in diverse, complex and fast-paced environments.

Your mission: We’ll rely on you to serve as the primary point of contact for compliance and data management of the Adult Education Program (AEP), including the Houston Literacy Consortium (HLC).

Your work: In this role, you’ll coordinate and maintain all continuing data operations (e.g., collection, review, entry, analysis and archival) to ensure compliance with Texas Education Agency grant requirements as well as those of the U.S. Office of Vocational and Adult Education National Reporting System. You’ll process course additions and changes, special projects and local need forms received from HLC sub-contractors, and coordinate data records with them for reporting purposes. Periodically, you’ll sample data to check for consistency between paper and electronic records. You’ll stay current on state and federal compliance processes and recordkeeping, and convey relevant knowledge to AEP and HLC staff through professional development training.

    Associate’s degree is required or sixty (60) hours toward degree completion plus five (5) years of directly related experience, preferably in Adult Education Programs or Systems, may be substituted for degree requirements; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education or related field preferred.

    Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in working with Adult Education or related field required.

    Knowledge of PeopleSoft and TEAMS guidelines related to Adult Education.

    Experience with the practices and procedures of community college or grant funded programs desired.

    Ability to multi-task with several complex and demanding projects.

    Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Be able to work successfully within a team environment.

    Perform proficiently in PeopleSoft, Access, and Excel.

    Excellent time management skills required and an ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.

    Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences is required.

    Knowledgeable in the areas of student registration, program information, records and database management. Oversee and implement

    Possess strong interpersonal skills to work well with all levels of individuals within the institution and the business communities.
